It is known that the "unaccompanied Cello Suite (Suite)", known as the immortal masterpiece for cello, was composed for cellist Abel, who was a member of the Kitech court orchestra in Korten in about 1720.

The cello was not used as a solo instrument, because it could not have a colorful and various tone like violin and narrow range of technique. Bach played the role of supporting the other instruments in the ensemble. Bach composed this "unaccompanied violin cello", and it clarified the possibility of the cello as a solo instrument.

The "unaccompanied Cello Choir," often called the Old Testament of cello music, is still devalued even after other Bach works have seen light since the nineteenth century - it is too difficult to play and the musicality is not studied properly. It was only being played - 20th century cello master Pablo Casals discovers, studies, plays and is recognized as the best classic cello music. In addition to the introduction of new forms, the traditions of German music, and the depths of its religious significance, the absoluteness of its content and form occupies a firm position that no one can deny and is regarded as the essential and ultimate goal that every cellist wants to conquer today. Casals, who played a decisive role in the discovery of this piece, found the score of this piece at a restaurant in Barcelona at the age of thirteen. Here is a quote from Casals:

"One day I happened to find Bach's 'Unaccompanied Cello Choir' in one store, and the charming mystery that I could not tell was contained in the sheet music of these six pieces of" unaccompanied Cello Choir. "Until then, I did not even know that this song was there, and this discovery has the greatest significance in my life. "

Casals mentioned the characteristics of the six unaccompanied cello compositions: The first is Optimistic, the second is Tragic, the third is Heroic, the fourth is Grandiose, the fifth is Tempestuos, and the sixth is Bucolic. It is evident from the Prelude (Prelude) of each song. The first to the sixth are composed of six parts: Prelude-Allemand-Kurant-Saraband-Minuet (or Brena-Gabby) -Jig.

Usually, the third and fifth are high, but it is hard to comprehend even to play and it is the first gate of this unaccompanied cello suite. As much as that number one plays the same role as the first movement in the symphony that shows us the nature of the whole suite and presents its first theme. Therefore, starting from the first one, our approach will be necessary as the first step to understand all six songs. I think this one is not so difficult, especially because of the rich resonance that Prelude has played in open-air, and many people like this song and then they want to learn the cello directly. It is also a pleasure to see that the recent performance of the EMI by Rostropovich (CF) has attracted popular popularity.
