Dedication, instrument: It was discovered 80 years after its completion and was premiered. In 1937, Hermann Schuplinger discovered a draft in the National Library of Prussia. The theme of "Variations on the theme of angels" and the two movements of this concerto are so similar that Clara Schuman is reluctant to play.

Composition of movements


1 movement

In Kräftigem, Night zu schnellem Tempo, "Vigorously, not too fast", D forged, 4/4 beat. Sonata format. The first theme begins with the first violin. This theme was played after Fortissimo, and the first violin played the second theme in F major. The development part begins with the first theme of F major by orchestra. The second theme of D forged leads to violin solo. The performance section is similar to the presentation section and plays the first theme with a string instrument and ends with a solo violin.


2 movements

Langsam, "Slowly", B flat major, 4/4 beat. Two - part format. With the prefecture as the main body, paport and horn are added, followed by counterpoint.


3 movements

Lebhaft, Doch night schnell, "alive, but not too fast", D major, 3/4 beat. Rondo type. A solo violin plays the theme of Rondo over the string and horn. In Coda, the solo violin plays a new theme of the tremolo. The role of the solo violin increases as the 1st theme of the 1st movement and the theme of Rondo are mixed.
